Content Policy
The Jotter content policy is an extension of our principles, to ensure it remains a positive experience for everyone. It applies to all content on the Jotter platform, including writings, comments and reviews. Core elements of our Content policy are:
- Personal and psychological safety. We do not allow content which represents harmful or dangerous behaviour to our members, including use of hate speech, promoting violence (physical or psychological), or predatory behaviour.
- Accurate labelling of content so as not to misinform or mislead. Jotter allows a wide variety of content to be shared, from fictional wars on far away planets, to latest scientific journals. It is important that information is classified correctly so as not to misinform or mislead others. Share opinions as opinions, fictional discoveries as fictional discoveries, and theories as theories!
- Privacy, yours and others. Jotter does not allow content which contravenes a person's rights to privacy. Do not post any personal information without express permission. Also, please be careful before disclosing your own personal information to others.
- Illegal content or Criminal activities. Do not post any illegal content or content which is linked to any criminal activity. That means no sharing of malicious malware code, government secrets, or how to make dangerous weapons.
- Intellectual Property and Copyright. Only post content that is yours, or where you have been given express permission by the content owner.
What happens if you breach Jotter’s content policy?
There are a number of actions that can be taken, including removing of content, suspending an account or permanently terminating the account. The action taken will depend on the type of breach that has occurred, any pattern of repeated behaviour, or the likelihood of community harm.
Whilst not our preference, Jotter does reserve the right to suspend or terminate any member's account we deem is not aligned with our principles.
